Y&R Star Peter Bergman Reveals Diane Isn’t Going Anywhere

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will find herself in a pickle during the week of December 12. Peter Bergman, the actor who plays Jack Abbott, sat down with Soap Opera Digest, which is on newsstands now, revealing a few juicy tidbits about Diane.

Bergman revealed that he doesn’t like to know what’s coming up too far in advanced. He wants to be surprised by what’s coming up for Jack, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and now, Diane.

Peter said he thinks the problem is Diane has a past with nearly everyone on the show. They despise her, and want to see her suffer. So, those people get a manipulative and cagey person. However, he thinks with Jack and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Diane is genuine and wants to form a bond.

“Diane did horrible things in her past, spending years dreaming of trying to fix her relationships. She has a son that she hadn’t seen in years and a man she loves that she wants to reconnect with. She can’t set things right with everyone, but she can with the two that means something to her. Everywhere she goes, she wreaks a little havoc along the way. She’s manipulative, she’s cagey, and she’s nasty sometimes, but with Kyle and Jack, the audience sees how sincere she is. She’s not working or manipulating them,” Bergman shared.

This might be bad news for the Diane haters, but the character isn’t leaving Genoa City anytime soon. She wants to develop a relationship with Jack and Kyle, and to do that, she must stick around.

“This is a great storyline and we are blessed to have Susan playing Diane. The redemption of Diane Jenkins is a long-term story. It won’t end in a few months. It could take years, and I am blessed to be on this journey with the viewers,” Bergman added.

It sounds like Diane isn’t going anywhere and the fans should buckle up for more action. Let’s hope that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) doesn’t figure out Jack’s plan to hide her out at the Abbott cabin.
