Nate is a good guy or, according to some opinions, which included his own, may not be that anymore. But with Elena’s presence, support, and positive influence, it becomes possible that Nate reverts to a good course.

However, a new element exists now that did not, prior to Elena briefly leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin. Her name is Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Victoria wanted to take Nate’s insider information and use it to take control of Chancellor-Winters. But that initial public offering plan was scrapped when Nate felt compelled by Elena’s decision to pursue the Baltimore option.

Nate’s tell to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was a stunner. But he protected his colluding partner, which proved to be a skillful business decision.

Heinle’s character valued what she sees as Nate’s morals and offered him the top spot at Newman Media shortly thereafter. He was uncertain about her motivation to hire him and rationalized later accepting the CEO job.

Y&R Spoilers – Nate Hastings In Flux

Nate did not change in recent months. The origin of his transformation arguably dates back to when a woman he loved unexpectedly died. That happened off-screen when the character Dominic now plays was said to be practicing medicine out of town.

As devoted viewers recall, Nate has endured a rocky road when working with the Newman family. His conscience tests involved Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), a scenario that countless GC residents and others across the globe have dealt with through the decades since Braeden’s character became one of the most famous people in the soapy world.

But the Newman family, including Victoria, did not force Nate to betray his family. No, he and Devon’s feud exists because Elena left James’ character to be with Nate. That created a two-sided grudge that endures.

Elena believes Nate loves her. That is true, but fans can reasonably speculate if the Newman Media job has opened the daytime door to Victoria becoming Nate’s next romantic interest.

Devon’s romantic status is questionable due to Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) voluntarily dropping to a recurring status earlier this year. If Amanda remains a sporadic player, Devon could seek advice from his one-time love, Elena.

Nate and Elena have not been together for long. Considering how their relationship started, it is fair to project further drama between this potentially reviving couple on Y&R.
