Y&R Spoilers: Why Phyllis REALLY Hates Diane Jenkins

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal Phyllis going ahead with her plan to bring down Diane by destroying her in Summer and Kyle’s eyes — and she will be relentless, as she always is.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) have teamed up to do as much damage to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) as possible so she’ll just slither away once again and they can show Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that she hasn’t changed at all.

Actress Michelle Stafford understands her character’s motivations and doesn’t believe anyone can really be someone else.

“Phyllis knows it’s not true. People don’t really change their spots,” Stafford said in the August 9, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “They grow, they mature, they get older and can have some sort of introspection on their life. You can change your ways and stop doing things that hurt people but people are still who they are.”

That is just what Jack keeps saying to Phyllis about herself and Stafford understands. “Yeah, [Phyllis] definitely knows who she is but Phyllis isn’t buying any of what Diane is selling.”

As for teaming up with Nikki and Ashley, something that would have seemed unheard of at one time, Stafford couldn’t be more thrilled. These ladies are fierce and will not let anyone get in their way once they are on a mission.

“I”m really glad that they added them in the story,” Stafford said. “I would do it anyway, but it’s hard to play everybody against you, and when what your character is saying is really logical and other people who are somewhat logical don’t buy it, it’s hard.”

People like Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Jack Abbott used to be much more logical, but now they don’t see what Phyllis is fussing about. After all, Diane Jenkins is so nice now.

She is so sorry about what she did to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) when he was a boy and wants to make it all up to him by being a good grandmother to young Harrison.
