The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was sitting on the sofa with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in what once was the Father Knows Best living room setting. But that scene was not a blast from the soapy past or a desire to return to it. Instead, Victoria is demonstrating that she is moving on.
Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) reeled her in. She fell into his trap. Then, she felt compelled to reclaim what he had taken from her and the Newman family.
Ashland’s actions served to accidentally end his life. It is fair to say that the punishment Victoria and her father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), doled out blew back on them as well.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke Was Deranged
Tagging Ashland as a narcissist would not be complete. He was far more than that.
Newman’s character lied about having cancer, doing so as part of a plan to take control of Newman Enterprises. While Newman-Locke became the realized conglomerate, there is no way to know what he may eventually have done to Victoria.
Ashland’s actions at her house on the night he died indicated that he was preparing for a physical attack. Is it far-fetched to assume that if she accepted his cancer lie, he would have later gone off the rails in the future for some perceived provocation?
Y&R Spoilers – Victoria Newman Was Protected
Victoria often told Billy that she did not need his protection. Some of that mentality came from adopting Victor’s overly prideful outlook on life.
If Billy had not forcefully told Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to check on Victoria, he likely would not have done so. If Nick did not go to the house that night, a standoff between Ashland and Victoria would have resulted.
Heinle’s character appreciated Nick’s defense. She also thanked Billy, which was needed.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Does Not Want To Move On
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is disgusted that his father has gotten away with covering up his dirty tricks. Victor gave Adam more information about what happened than was wise.
Victor’s tell to Adam, regarding Nick’s actions, could prove problematic. But letting Adam know he protected the family set Grossman’s character off.
Adam feels the family has been ungrateful. He warned them about Ashland on multiple occasions, with no thanks offered. Victor is once again Adam’s target, which is compelling soap.
