The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has once flown the Newman coup. She is behaving as petulantly as her father, whose emotions she matches.

Victoria intends to show Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that she can stand on her own. That is a pattern devoted fans have seen Victoria exhibit since she was a young adult and looked like Heather Tom (the earlier edition of Victoria Newman).

Victoria’s histrionic influence has rarely waned. Most recently, he endorsed Ashland Locke (who then looked like Richard Burgi) and has now turned against him. With him now played by Robert Newman.

Burgi is a fine actor who first filled the Ashland role. His work was appreciated by fans of solid soap.

Robert Newman is a welcome surprise. Soap fans know him best as Josh Lewis (1980-2009) on the iconic, beloved Guiding Light.

Kudos to TPTB for hiring Newman, as he carved his niche and appears dialed into an enduring role on Y&R. Hopefully, speculation about Ashland being killed off in the relatively near future proves to be just that.

Newman and Heinle have chemistry, their characters have unlimited scripted opportunities, and Ashland is a perfect new foil for the great Victor Newman.

Y&R Spoilers – Victoria Newman Does Not Want Separation

If Victoria wanted to be cut off from her family she would have moved away and would never or rarely return. But she desires something different.

Heinle’s character is determined to prove she will not be controlled by her father. However, Victoria is allowing herself to be influenced by him and her other family members.

Growing up Newman meant that Victoria rarely experienced humility. She is full of herself, matching the bravado of the Moustache and sometimes bettering him.

Shouldn’t Victor be taking trips around the world with the love of his life, meaning Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and not the image of himself he sees reflected off his smartphone screen?

Instead of kicking back and allowing the generation he produced to run the business, Victor has his hands firmly on the wheel. He does not want separation from power, which is a link to the previous section header of this feature.

Yet, soap fans know that daytime is best when drama is juicy. So, Newman’s family conflict remains a staple. Add a legend like Robert Newman into the mix, and Y&R’s fans are in for a great ride.
