Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) interrogates his mother, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) about her reasons for playing dead so many years! Kyle is understandably blindsided by her reappearance, but even more confused by her reasoning! She’ll ask Kyle for a second chance to prove herself to him but he’ll be hesitant.
Kyle won’t want to trust her initially, but he’ll tell her he needs to think about it for a while. After he’s had more of a chance to process the shock, he will call her for another tentative meeting.
No one trusts Diane, and who can blame them, after all the havoc she wreaked in their lives in the past? Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will consider the possibility that she may have changed for the better, but Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to dissuade him. As far as she’s concerned, Diane is a dangerous sociopath who is unable to change. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will also give Diane a warning to stay away from his family if she knows what’s good for her!
Everyone wants to “Locke out” Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) and make sure her split from Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) sticks! Ex Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will both caution and support her in the aftermath of her rude awakening. After giving Locke a dose of his own medicine and conning him out of his co-CEO position and reversing the merger, she’ll need a new co-CEO.
Victoria will choose her mother Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to run Newman Enterprises beside her. That makes sense, since that was the arrangement before the Locke Ness Monster came into their lives.
Of course Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will be mad over not being Victoria’s choice even though their father Victor approves. Adam will pout and feel like dear old Dad’s playing favorites and leaving him out again, but Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will encourage him. Sally might even encourage him to get even instead of getting mad, so that will be interesting to see what they come up with! Sally’s owned her own company back in LA, maybe they’ll start a rival company of their own!
Locke will make a confession to Jack that will be a stunner, and it’ll throw him for a loop! One would think that would have something to do with little Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) but perhaps not – maybe he’ll come clean about faking his cancer. That seems like something that Jack might already know, but then he has been back and forth from LA a lot lately so maybe he’s not in the loop. He will confess he’s not giving up on Victoria, however.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will continue to comfort Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) after Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) very unexpected death. However, Sharon is not the only one mourning, and it seems Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is also struggling. Her best friend Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will worry about Chelsea’s mental health, and likely wonder if Chelsea had fallen for Rey. Perhaps it was a case of deep emotional dependence, since Rey had a profound impact on her recovery.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will also deal with some issues as her wedding to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) approaches. She was thinking that her sister Crystal Porter (Morgan Obenreder) would not be able to attend because of her legal issues. Tessa will receive some stunning news so perhaps she hears Crystal will be coming after all. Tessa was impacted by the death of Rey as much as the rest of her extended family so Crystal’s attendance would be a pleasant surprise.
There may be some last minute changes to include Crystal in her wedding if she wants to be. That shouldn’t be too hard to arrange.
There will be more Abbott family drama during the week of May 9-13, with an unexpected guest turning up at a family meeting. That could be Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) coming for her first meeting with the rest of the Abbotts. It would make sense for her to come while Kyle is in town, and meet her Uncle Kyle and cute little cousin Harrison. Speaking of Kyle, he’ll give Diane an ultimatum and it might be in the form of “shape up or ship out” and challenge her to prove her “redemption”! Kyle won’t give her any outs either, so she’d better toe the line!
Victor will continue to support Victoria as she works through her disappointments and heartbreak caused by Ashland Locke. Victoria did truly love him – or at least who he wanted her to believe he was – and those feelings won’t die overnight. The Locke Ness Monster will still be hanging around trying to prove his own redemption but that won’t happen overnight either. It is difficult for those kind of people to change and even more difficult for them to prove that they have!
Back with Nick and Sharon, they’ll be busily trying to get Tessa and Mariah’s wedding together to take place on May 13 even as Sharon works through her grief over Rey. They’ll spot a ghost from their past, and even though it could be Diane, Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) is due for a visit to her grieving mother. Sharon nearly always gets an encouraging ghostly visit during times like this, and even though in life she didn’t know she was a twin she may show up at the wedding! Besides, it’s very appropriate for a Friday the 13th wedding to include a ghost!
