Tucker is devious. He planted a mole, or a liaison, as Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) calls herself, inside Chancellor-Winters with the intention of stealing a company that is partially owned by the son, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), he wants to reconnect with. He also wants to steal Jabot and then offer it as proof of his love for Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), who is a principal in her family’s company.
Diane is dishonest. She abandoned her only known child when faking her murder and later used information Tucker provided about Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) granddaughter to create a shock effect comeback from the dead in Los Angeles, California.
Tucker is an egomaniac. He is methodically and patiently waiting for the right set of circumstances to develop to that Devon is either open to his father’s plan or believes it is the best course for CW.
St. John’s character loves Ashley, to whatever degree a narcissist like Tucker can lover anyone beyond himself. He has decided that Jabot needs to be run by Ashley and is again methodically and patiently waiting so that she goes along with his plan.
Devon and Ashley are both experiencing family drama issues and could be logically moving toward Tucker’s position, though neither knows it at this point in the plot.
But would Tucker be content to control CW and Jabot? The combined power of those companies, inside McCall Unlimited, would then rival the Moustache’s empire.
Ashley did not have as great a beef with Diane as the two other parts of her triangle team do. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) have great personal, historical animus toward Diane, whereas Ashley cited Diane’s involvement with a past boyfriend.
However, Ashley correctly sensed that Diane was a major threat to the stability of the Abbott family and its business. Davidson’s character has been proven right, as she and Jack are at odds.
As for Jabot, Diane’s presence at the beauty business is a daily destabilizer.
It is challenging to place a soapy wager on one person rather than the other. Tucker and Diane are equally resilient. But one or both characters could easily lose.
A sound strategy to defeat one might be to attempt to takedown both. A double loss bet are what Ashley, Nikki, Phyllis and other like-minded GC residents seek to realize. But that is a long-shot gamble on Y&R.
