Y&R Spoilers: Sharon Case Speaks Out On Jordi Vilasuso’s Sudden Exit

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sharon Case is talking about the shock departure of her onscreen husband Jordi Vilasuso who played Rey Rosales. Last week Rey died in a car accident involving Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).

Sharon Case told Michael Fairman that the death was, “really crazy [and] shocking.” And that is what many fans felt as well. According to Case she was “worried” while filming the scene in which Sharon learned that Rey is dead. She shouldn’t have—she hit it out of the park and deserves an Emmy for her stellar performance.

But since it was a pivotal scene, she, “had a lot of angst about doing the scene.”

Sharon Case admits to “second guessing” herself in the moment and worried if it would be, “good enough or real enough. We did tape the scene several times, so I had several shots at it. I did it a little bit differently each time, and I think the one that aired was the final take. During taping, I think I got a little more dramatic each time we performed the scene.”

She said that by the final take her eyes were red, and that was the most dramatic take. Fans burned down social media with praise for her performance.

How did she feel having to say goodbye to her co-star? She acknowledged that it was difficult: “It’s always just very, very sad when somebody leaves the show, especially when it’s somebody who you’ve worked with for years.”

Jordi revealed weeks ago that he was leaving the show, but no details were given as to how he would be written out. The show went in the most dramatic way possible. A crazed and discombobulated Victoria Newman got into her car and the result was a tragic accident in which Rey lost his life. Ironically she is Sharon’s SIL and this will be a very touchy subject for a long time to come. Rey was driving from the other direction and crashed into a ditch.

Ashland told Victoria: “I checked the other car. It had gone into a ditch. It was damaged much worse than either of ours.”

Ashland then added: “I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it was someone you know. Rey Rosales.”

Fans were outraged at the suddenness of the scene, with Rey not even seen, and blasted the show on social media for killing off with Rey in such a slapdash manner.
