Viewers of The Young and The Restless who watched Sally when she was on The Young and The Restless’ sister soap, The Bold and The Beautiful, know that Sally’s taking a risk letting herself love someone again –she’s been burned badly! Sally literally lost her mind over loving a man who dumped her twice for a high school sweetheart, and she became desperate enough to endanger her career by faking a terminal illness to get his sympathy!
Sally was quite good at it, and fooled everyone except for the man’s girlfriend, who ultimately tricked her into revealing her fakery, resulting in her knocking her out and tying her up in her home! Her boyfriend rescued her, however, and Sally spent some time in a mental institution healing from her desperate situation and knowing she’d ruined herself in Los Angeles, left for Genoa City where her grandmother and great aunt had known people.
Viewers of The Young and The Restless will see Sally make her Freudian slip of a love confession in Adam’s office, while he’s waiting for updates on the situation with his sister Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) and her stinker of a hubby, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). It was Adam who came up with the rogue idea of paying Locke five hundred million dollars to annul his marriage to Victoria and sign away any stake he had in the Newman-Locke company and just disappear and leave her alone!
Viewers of The Young and The Restless will see Sally probe Adam about if he really cares about his sister or if he’s trying to take advantage and swoop in to take her job! Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had made Adam temporary CEO of Newman-Locke and he isn’t too fond of having to give up the position! Sally knows Adam takes concern for his sister so she poses the question as a way to get to know Adam better.
Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless know that Adam kind of has this chip on his shoulder when it comes to his relationship with his father and the rest of the Newmans, so he gets a little defensive when Sally poses that question! Viewers of The Young and The Restless will see Adam beginning to doubt his own motives, and wonders if he really is that horrible of a person! Sally quickly jumps in and lets slip that she wouldn’t be falling in love with him were he really all that nefarious, which leaves him a bit thrown, and herself as well! He takes a couple of minutes to recover and to think over her response and he responds appropriately – at least for Adam, which means he might wonder if he’s really that lovable!
