If Diane falls for the friendship scheme, and that’s a big if, Phyllis could get her enemy’s guard down. Phyllis could find out information that Diane wouldn’t share otherwise. Phyllis could even get a better idea of Diane’s thought process, which could help with a counterattack.

Even though Phyllis might manage to get friendly with Diane, don’t expect the master manipulator to truly believe it. There is simply too much history between the two women. Phyllis might play mind games, but Diane will play them right back.
