Over the past few weeks, she’s expressed concern over Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) friendship. Lily asked Billy to go to couples therapy so they could work out some of their issues. Billy agreed to attend, confirming to Lily that their relationship was important to him.

Billy loves Lily, despite his obsession with being Chelsea’s savior. In Billy’s mind, his friendship with Chelsea is platonic, so it doesn’t cross any boundaries with Lily. However, he is spending every available minute with her, taking time away from Lily. He barely talks to Lily anymore, let alone invests in maintaining their bond.

The Christmas pictures were the first clue the Young and the Restless fans saw of an upcoming Lily/Billy breakup. Lily poses in front of the Christmas tree with Daniel Romalotti, Jr (Michael Graziadei). She seems to want more out of Daniel than a business deal. His business pitch for Chancellor-Winters to bankroll his gaming platform was another way for Lily to spend more time with Daniel.

It sounds like Billy and Lily may have hit the end of the road. With his continued addiction to spending time with Chelsea, their relationship has run its course. Only time will tell for the Y&R viewers to discover if Lily and Billy’s story is over.
