Y&R Spoilers: Kyle Not Same Man, Michael Mealor Talks Return

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is coming back to Genoa City. The return is spurred by Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) being alive and wanting a relationship with her son. Speaking to ET Canada, Mealor discussed how Kyle has changed since being in Milan as well as the Diane dynamic.

Y&R spoilers reveal that fans were disappointed when Kyle and Summer Newman-Abbott (formerly played by Hunter King) left the CBS soap. Even though Summer’s job in Milan was due to Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) and Tara Locke’s (formerly played by Elizabeth Leiner) scheme, it worked out for the character.

Once the whole truth came out, Kyle and Summer reunited. Instead of Summer coming back to Genoa City, Kyle moved to Milan with Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Since their big exit, “Skyle” got married and has been living happily with Harrison in Milan.

When Diane showed herself to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), he was shocked. Of course, Diane had some serious explaining to do. Diane claimed that she wants a chance to reconnect with Kyle. Diane expects Jack to smooth the waters and make that possible. While Jack has asked Kyle to come home so they can talk, Diane might beat him to it.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Kyle has changed a lot since he was last in Genoa City. Mealor told ET Canada,

“Kyle is coming back from Italy a little bit changed. He’s been living in a foreign country, and he’s been a full-time dad. What fans can expect is a papa bear figure who is really protective of his son. He’s had a rocky three years, but he’s matured as a man, he’s matured as a father, and he’s matured as a husband as well.”

So, how will Kyle react to Diane being alive and wanting a part in his life after all these years? Mealor couldn’t give out any spoilers but did tease Kyle will wrestle with his decision.

“At the end of the day, he’s a little boy who lost his mom and I think everyone can relate to that. I think Kyle is wrestling with joy that his mom is alive, but also the fact that she chose not to be here for 20 years.”
