The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has closed the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) case. But he remains conflicted about doing so.
The Newman family is relieved that the investigation is over. They are thankful to Chance, with the exception of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), who does not respect the outcome.
Kevin Fisher’s (Greg Rikaart) conversation in Chancellor Park with Adam felt like a foreshadowing. Rikaart’s character does not believe justice was served.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Unable To Find Definitive Evidence
Chance rationalized a conclusion. That happened after his wife, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), impressed that he had more than an obligation to go by the book. Chance has an obligation to his family.
Being a Chancellor brings certain societal expectations. But Chance’s main family in modern Genoa City, Wisconsin, is the Newmans.
So, Chance decided that since he did not have enough evidence to pursue charges, he was not going to put the Newman family through additional stress. That choice leaves Chance unsettled.
Y&R Spoilers – More Evidence Is Exposed
Adam is teased to come into possession of information that will be damaging. While Grossman’s character should be keeping his entitled nose out of this situation, he is opting to pursue a different, darker path.
Victor admitted that he protected Nick and Victoria after Ashland died in Victoria’s home. Telling Adam that the accidental death was handled will surely come back to bite the Moustache hard.
For a myriad of soapy reasons, Adam wants to bring his father to justice. Adam also wants to put the squeeze on Victoria because of how she has dismissively treated him.
Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) Jabot offer also indicates that Adam’s old ally may benefit from coming conflict.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Overestimating Control
Victor feels he orchestrated the perfect cover-up, with his security team handling the venue change of Ashland’s death. Instead of being traced back to Victoria’s home, it happened at the ravine.
Ashland was tagged as an irresponsible driver or someone who took his own life because of his misdeeds. Either scenario is plausible based upon the concocted evidence Victor’s minions created.
But Victor’s overestimation leaves him mostly blind to another threat, Adam. Braeden’s character can not believe his youngest son would seek to betray the family once again. But that is Adam’s goal.
