Y&R Spoilers: Gloria Is Missing In Action– Will We Ever See The Busy Body Mom Again?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) is missing in action, and it could be a while before we see her again. She was last seen in June when Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) needed a mediator. Chelsea was deep in the grief of Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and unable to concentrate on work.

Gloria returned to the canvas to let the ladies know they needed to pull it together to meet deadlines. True to Gloria’s way of communication, she gave Chelsea and Chloe her advice, dishing it out in a true “been there done that” fashion. It got the job done as they pulled it together, and Gloria went to the back burner.

No one mentions Gloria on the show, which is a hint that she may not pop up soon. She is an asset to the cast, and they should use her more often. She often rubs the viewers the wrong way but in a good way. They love to hate her and get excited when she pops in for a visit.

“I love Gloria,” Judith Chapman told She Knows Soaps. “She’s such a well-defined character. She came from nothing and would do anything to ensure she didn’t go backward. She’s like Sisyphus pushing that rock up the hill again and again. She may be pushed five steps back, but she’s going to move forward then five and a half steps!”

Judith said Gloria’s been with several characters on the show, at least those around Chapman’s age. The one character she’d like to see Gloria with is Victor Newman.

“I cannot tell you how many times I’ve gone up to Eric Braeden, whom I adore, and said, ‘Come on, Victor, you’ve been with everyone else. When’s it my turn?’” she laughs. “I have a huge soft spot in my heart for Eric. It would be fabulous to work with him.”

She admitted that she didn’t expect TPTB (The Powers That Be) to pair Victor and Gloria, as Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Vic have a fantastic relationship on the show. But the Y&R viewers would love to see their favorite busybody mom return for a small arc. Indeed, they can find some trouble for her to get into, right?
