Diane was sincere about intending to leave GC when she believed Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) did not want her to be part of his life. But Kyle told his mother not to leave.

If Diane does not completely alienate Kyle, she will retain her emotional base. Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) has vacillated between having some element of sympathy for Diane and seeing her as a destabilizer.

Kyle will rely on Summer to help guide him. So, Diane’s self-reveal, if deep enough, could provide the basis for a narrow forgiveness path. But that feels questionable.

Diane has survived even though she has not reunited with Jack. But ruling out that possibility is not something any hardcore fan should do.

While Jack never married Diane, they had a child together. They also share a grandchild in Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).

Jack greatly values family, and while he does not fully trust Diane, he has come to understand her to a much greater degree since she revealed herself at Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen’s (Philip Moon) home in LA. But if the Tucker connection proves too weighty, Jack could bail, as could Kyle. If so, Diane is in trouble.

Diane made an agreement with Tucker after faking her death many years ago. While that link allowed her to survive and apparently thrive, it has also led to his reappearance in GC.

Tucker just told Diane that she has not fulfilled her end of their bargain. He does not care if she loses the credibility she gained with Kyle and Jack.

Yes, Tucker has been Diane’s lifeline. But his seeming desire to stir the soapy pot indicates that Tucker might become the only person who Diane is tied to when all is said and done.
