Y&R spoilers reveal that Chance has been torn apart over the Ashland investigation. What began as a simple accidental death turned into a much bigger conspiracy. Even though Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) intention was to protect Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), it caused even more problems.

Once Chance realized that Victor was responsible for staging Ashland’s car accident, he tried to get to the truth. However, the evidence was shaky and nobody was confessing. Plus, Chance kept getting pressured by Victor, Victoria and even Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway).

After learning that the Newman family was pushing Abby, Chance made an unexpected decision. Chance told the Newman family that he would no longer be investigating Ashland’s death. Chance decided that Ashland was a bad guy who died an accidental death.

However, this goes against everything that Chance believes in. Even though the Newman family will be relieved, it will just cause more problems for Chance.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that after Chance announced his decision, he went to the bar to drink. Chance is clearly filled with turmoil as he goes over the case in his mind. This decision will become a huge issue for Chance.

What makes this worse is Abby is already frustrated that Chance is always working instead of spending time with their family. So, if Chance continues to drink, then Abby might not realize the root cause of the problem. Abby could just get fed up.

Y&R Spoilers – End Of Marriage?

During the week of August 29, Soap Opera Digest reports that Abby will get fed up with Chance. So, this is clearly connected to Chance’s decision and the Newman family getting what they want.

Chance probably won’t want to put more stress on Abby. So, just like he did with the PTSD storyline, Chance could struggle to cope with it on his own. Abby mentioned that Chance is always at work and repeatedly missing family dinners. Abby also brought up that Chance missed a huge milestone with their son, Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (most recently played by Rainn and River Ware).
