Y&R spoilers reveal that Chance has been trying to get to the truth about Ashland Locke’s (formerly played by Robert Newman) death. The more that Chance pushed for answers, the more he was blocked from the truth. In addition to that, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) kept using Abby to get Chance to drop the case.

Then, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) pushed Abby to reason with Chance. Abby is stuck in the middle. Plus, Abby is getting frustrated that Chance is missing family dinners and seeing Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) milestones.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was tempted to confess the truth about what Victor did with Ashland’s body. However, Chance surprised everyone by showing up at the ranch with an announcement. Chance claimed that he would not be arresting anyone and would file the report as Ashland dying in a car accident.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Chance went to society and clearly was struggling with the announcement. Chance told Abby about what he discovered but the evidence was circumstantial at best. Abby was relieved that nobody in her family would be arrested.

However, Chance assured Abby that before making the decision to drop the investigation, he would have kept digging. So, it is clear that Chance isn’t happy with the decision.

It is teased that Chance and Victor will have one more interaction regarding Ashland’s death. It is stated that once again, Victor calls Chance’s bluff. Meanwhile, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) demands answers from Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

With how dedicated Chance is to his career and the truth, he could be deceiving everyone about the investigation. Maybe Chance feels that as long as he’s stonewalled, he can’t get to the truth. Perhaps Chance realizes that everyone needs to lower their guard while he silently continues investigating. In any case, it seems that this story is far from over.
