Since returning from her extended stay with her mother after getting away with trying to kill Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) found herself falling for Rey when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) rejected her once and for all. But now Rey is dead and Chelsea has been floundering. She tried to go back into the fashion biz with Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson), but all they did was bicker and could never agree on anything.

Chloe now accepted a job with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chelsea finds herself having to tell Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) that she needs to quit as well. She doesn’t have the work done that she promised and she claims it is all affecting her mental health.

But at least she had that nice run-in with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) recently and gave him some advice on his woe-is-me podcast that the fans never want to hear again. After turning down a job with Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman Abbott as well, she runs into Billy once again and it becomes a very good encounter indeed.

Two Peas In A Pod(cast)

If ever there were two characters who keep screwing up and have become pseudo-outcasts in many aspects of GC society, it’s Billy and Chelsea. But Chelsea told Billy what we’ve all been thinking. His podcast is too depressing and morose and lots of people could fall asleep to that. Chelsea thinks he should spice things up.

So, Billy takes that to heart and offers Chelsea a gig as his co-host. And Chelsea is game.

“She thinks it sounds exciting, actually, and it might be a way for her to heal,” Melissa Claire Egan said in the July 19, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “She’s trying to come out of these dark times and start fresh, so this could be what she needs..”

This could lead to even more for Chelsea and Billy, who do, after all, share a child in little Johnny Abbott. He is not legally Chelsea’s as Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) adopted him, but they do have a bond. Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless weekdays to see how this story plays out.
