So, why is Billy’s mind restless. And the use of that adjective is intentionally linked to the show’s title to underscore the importance of Billy’s issue within this developing storyline.
Meanwhile, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) loves Billy’s idea of a self-help podcast. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) appreciates it as well.
Too much reliance on self-help can reveal a personality type that is desperate to stabilize one’s life but is unable. Alternatively, this topic can be painted, sometimes accurately, as narcissistic. Exclusively helping oneself can leave all others in second position.
But Billy’s reference of Devon and Lily’s dad, the late Neil Winters (played by the late, great Kristoff St. John), and the late Katherine Chancellor (played by the late, greatest of all-time Y&R actor, Jeanne Cooper) imply that the show is going to further the legacies of two beloved actors and the characters they played.
So, the intention of Billy’s podcast series will be embraced by all devoted fans of this iconic steamer.
Teasers indicate that Devon will soon need serious support. Blood tests are taken on his assumed genetic son, Dominic Newman Abbott Winters Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware), which are said to reveal that James’ character is not the father after all.
Devon will be crushed if the projected twist plays out as anticipated. He suffered the loss of his unborn child when Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) miscarried their expectant child after a horrific car accident that Lily inadvertently caused in the summer of 2018.
This time around, a truly generous offer allowed his longtime friend, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), and her husband, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), to have a child. Devon’s recent custody gain allowed him and Amanda Sinclair (Morgan) to begin spending regularly-scheduled time with Dom, which helped the still-struggling married couple and allowed bonding time with the baby.
Lily accepted a massive responsibility. Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) decided that Lily, not Billy, was the responsible pick to succeed her as the head of Chancellor Industries.
Old-school viewers recall that Katherine hired Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to run the company a handful of years after her husband, Phillip Chancellor II (Donnelly Rhodes), tragically died. Victor later founded his own company, Newman Enterprises.
Heading one of Genoa City, Wisconsin’s leading corporations is a monumental responsibility. Will Lily be able to do so if Billy proves unable to maintain stability on Y&R?
