The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) received an unexpected job offer at a perfect time. Perfect, meaning that it can allow him to further his renewed devious goal of attacking Newman Enterprises, with his father and oldest sister as the real targets.

Adam abandoned his old self in the recent past. He made real progress with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and bonded with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for the first time in his life.

But Adam routinely defaults to his grievance-based personality type. He is comfortable wallowing in self-pity, which spells trouble for the Moustache.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) needs someone he can trust. Adam apparently qualifies.

But Jack’s impulse can not be considered a wise business decision, as Jabot has been off the Moustache’s radar. Hiring Adam would immediately make the family business a target.

Bergman’s character must not be considering that consequence, does not care, or is up for a renewal of his legendary rivalry with Victor. Viewers must wonder if the writing staff felt enough time passed in Jack and Victor’s truce, thereby allowing fresh plot to be created?

Y&R Spoilers – Adam Newman Sees Opportunity At Jabot

Assuming Adam takes the job, he will have the backing of a supposed monied business. But Jabot has never been a true competitor. Instead, it competes against Newman Enterprises in certain areas.

The personal battle lines that would be drawn are enticing, with Adam surely open to exploiting all of them. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) would become the opposition, for starters.

But Adam also knows that Jack stands alone as a unique strategist. While Jack has rarely defeated Victor, his antics have often proven distracting. That alone could create the cover Adam needs to undermine his dad and torment Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Must Enforce Discipline

Victor expects loyalty. The lack of it brings punishment. Yes, the Moustache sees his enemies as children.

Jack is seen as a beatable foil. But Adam is rightly respected as shrewd, with his unpredictable nature often creating problems for Victor.

Fans know Victor felt sorry for what Adam went through as a boy, with the defense of his mother revealed through an excellent retrospective storyline in the recent past. However, that backstory was resolved, with Victor rectifying his feelings and holding Adam to a higher level of responsibility.

If Adam teams with Jack, as he has done before, Victor will recognize his petulant son’s intent and enforce discipline on Y&R. How Adam responds would surely be compelling.
