The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) embarrassed himself and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) when proposing while drunk. The spectacle at the trendy Glam Club led to a subsequent encounter that became a double reversal.

Few in Genoa City, Wisconsin, would have predicted that Sally would agree to Adam’s sober plea that she overlook his drunken actions. She agreed to do so and meet with Adam in her suite at the Grand Phoenix Hotel.

Their talk led to a cavort. But that development did not result in a reunion as Adam hoped. Instead, he accepted Sally’s convoluted thinking that the experience meant they were officially done.

Fans smelled the soap when Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) happened to arrive at Sally’s GP suite as Adam was leaving. That allowed Morrow’s character to learn the truth, and it came just after his father warned him off Sally.

Hope’s character cares for both Newman brothers. However, she has decided that being with Adam would be wrong for her and Grossman’s character. Sally’s conclusion is legitimate.

But Sally also wants Nick to believe she can move from Adam to him. She and Nick agreed to take some time before reviving their burgeoning romantic relationship.

Adam is not giving up on Sally. Instead, he realizes she was serious in saying he is not her current choice.

Her logic was arguably compelling. They do care about each other. But the dynamic of their pairing has proven problematic with no visible resolution.

Longtime fans can reasonably believe the Adam-Sally pairing may be revisited as soon as early next year. The spark for the anticipated reunion would involve Nick doing something wrong or deciding, as he has done in other relationships, to exit the coupling stage right or left.

Sally’s most passionate connection in GC is clearly Adam. He matches her personality type. But, as she correctly said, their connection is too much.

Sally told Nick that what happened with his brother represented an ending. She said that Adam sees clearly.

But Nick knows Adam far better than Sally. So, he will need to weigh his experience in the type of triangular relationship Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) warned of verses pursuing a woman he has grown to care for on Y&R.
