The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is over the moon. He sees his father’s, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), decided to name him Newman Enterprises’ Chief Executive Officer as vindication.

Adam believes he played the game right. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) sunk herself, which allowed her detested brother to rise.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s forgiveness of and reconciliation with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) appears to further Adam’s momentum.

Victoria was willing to relinquish the power position she felt was hers to hold forever. Victoria’s relentless criticism of her father’s creative take on paternal instinct is serving to embolden Victor even further.

Ashland is now seen not as a betrayal artist but as the injured party. Victoria sees Victor as a manipulative villain. So, mind games will be played while Adam runs the family business with his father’s close oversight.

Heinle’s character intends to teach her father a lesson, believing she can outwit one of the world’s all-time chess players.

Adam long felt like an outcast. He thought Victoria was the favored one, being Victor’s firstborn and favorite.

But the sudden turnabout leaves Adam in a position that might be challenging to oust him from if Victoria eventually makes amends. Adam is super savvy but, like his oldest sister, believes he is a few steps ahead of pops.

If Adam produces in the CEO spot, Victor may be less inclined to ditch him whether Victoria returns or not. A good bet would lay money on Adam’s reign not lasting through the end of this calendar year. But Grossman’s character has proven resilient and particularly cunning.

Victor did not believe Adam was trustworthy for many years. Even today, he keeps one eye on Adam at all times.

However, Victor values loyalty and can not argue that Adam is anything other than that. Profits and reputation matter. So, if Adam produces, all could be swell for a while.

If Adam can avoid following the pattern that he, Victoria, and Nick are known for and learns how to accept Victor’s meddling, it is possible he can retain the CEO title.

Victoria thinks she will punish her father. Adam wants to please him. Victor can see the difference in those outlooks and is siding with Adam for now.
