The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal tears all around as Sharon Rosales and Genoa City mourn the passing of Rey Rosales, who was senselessly killed when a hysterical Victoria decided to drive, once again distraught that her taste in men is bad.
The Young And The Restless Spolers – Cheated Rey’s Death Story
When a beloved actor like Jordi Vilasuso is unceremoniously written out after four years for no real reason, could the actor and character have had more of a send-off? We didn’t even get a dramatic death scene. All we got was Rey running out of Crimson Lights to go home and get hockey tickets, telling Sharon (Sharon Case), Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) that he’d be back in a flash. And then he wasn’t.
Yes, things like this often happen in real-life. You think you’ll see someone again in a few minutes and then the unthinkable happens and they are gone. But on a soap, send-offs of major characters are typically a bit more involved.
The show already created a disaster scene with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Victoria Newman Locke’s (Amelia Heinle) cars, what was the harm in giving Jordi some makeup to make him look injured and filming a scene where Sharon arrives and stays with her husband as he passes. How hard could that have been? It could have even been Emmy worthy, but instead, we got Sharon, Chelsea, and Connor at Crimson Lights wondering what was keeping Rey.
Y&R Spoilers – Why Was Rey Rosales Even Killed?
It would have been so easy for Sharon and Rey to realize that their marriage just wasn’t working for any number of reasons and have Rey move back to Florida like the rest of his family rather than kill him. He could have had an affair with Chelsea that he regretted. Sharon could have kicked him out.
But instead, a character fans invested four years in was killed for no real reason and he couldn’t even get a death scene. The show needs to do better and should have done better by fans of Shey, but they blew it instead. Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless weekdays to see how this story plays out.
