Y&R News: Connor Floyd’s Cowboy Film Was The Role Of A Lifetime

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Connor Floyd has his hands full playing conflicted PTSD-suffering Chance Chancellor on the CBS soap. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time for other projects and he recently starred in Bad Men Must Bleed, a western filmed in Texas.

“That one was a lot of fun,” he told Soap Opera Digest. He added that the film had special significance for him as his dad was a big Gunsmoke fan.

“Growing up, I always wanted to be in a Western,” said the soap star. Getting the chance to play a cowboy was a “blast” he added, “I was shooting guns and riding horses.”

Floyd was totally schooled in his role by an expert who taught him how to mount and dismount his horse, how to hold a gun and how to shoot it. Nonetheless, the actor grew up riding horses: “it had been a while so I was a little rusty.”

The movie sounds like a surefire winner and it’s clear that Floyd had the chance of a lifetime in filming it. “Overall it was the coolest experience,” he said. If only his Y&R character was in such a good place!

Right now Chance is having a tough go of it in Genoa City, Wisconsin. He was on a mission overseas to take out the bad guys when the reverse happened—he survived and now he has overwhelming guilt and associated trauma. He is seeing a real therapist after Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) had a go at him and it looks like the therapy is working.

The down side is that he is even more emotionally distant from his wife and child as a result. He does not want to hurt them, but he is sitting on a tinder box as his therapist pokes and prods him. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is in over her head and their child’s biological dad Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) could be making a move to gain full custody.
