Y&R Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) Honored

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) actress, Kate Linder also known as Ms. Esther Valentine was recently honored and named the Honorary Colonel of the Hollywood American Legion post 43 during the annual commander’s Ball held on August 6, 2022. This was in recognition of her history of voluntary work with the organization.

Linder noted, “I will never forget being able to share this honor with stars such as Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe, Ginger Rogers, and countless others. I would like to thank Commander Jeff Daly, Past Commander Jennifer Campbell, and Honorary Colonel Jane Austin, who I know had a lot to do with me being named Honorary Colonel. I would like to thank the members and veterans of Hollywood Post 43. Thank you for your service has a whole new meaning for me now and forever!”

The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization and Hollywood Post 43 has a very deep relationship with show business. Over 200 actors and actresses have been honored and inducted as Honorary Colonels since 1932. Since 1932.

Y&R News – Kate Linder’s The Young And The Restless History

Linder has spent the last four decades playing the role of Esther Valentine on The Young and the Restless. This is a role she is widely known and recognized for. In addition to that Soaps in Depth notes, “Linder has done four USO tours with the late Johnny Grant and has spent Thanksgivings visiting troops in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Korea to boost morale, also visiting Guantanamo Bay to send off deploying troops from Fort Hood.”

Linder loves what she does hence the reason why she has been doing it so long. The actress also recently noted that she has no plans to retire so fans will be seeing her on their screens as long as it is possible. Most recently on screen, Esther had a date after all these years of not being romantically involved or having a storyline on the show, we finally saw her getting some juicy material.

However, viewers are still left to find out what happened to Esther and the man she went on a date with. In the meantime, we congratulate her on being honored.
