Why Devon Is Not The One In The Wrong On The Young And The Restless

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal Devon continuing to pursue legal rights to Dominic, which is driving Abby crazy. Some people might say they had an agreement and he is in the wrong, but we don’t think so.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Devon Hamilton Acting Like Devon Hamilton

A year ago, when Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) first got it in his head that he should become Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) sperm donor for the baby she just had to make despite not having her husband around to make one or even be there through a pregnancy, we knew it was a bad idea. And it was VERY out of character for Devon, who didn’t even want to be Hilary’s sperm donor when she wanted a baby and they weren’t together. He wanted to be her baby’s father, but sadly, the baby they eventually made died with her.

After Devon’s childhood in and out of foster homes, he vowed to always be there for a child that was his, so volunteering just his swimmers and agreeing NOT to be there for a baby Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) would carry and Abby would raise was not a Devon thing to do at all. Wanting legal rights to that baby now, IS a Devon thing, and maybe he is right to do so.

Y&R Spoilers – Abby Newman Already Ruined Their Agreement

Yes, Devon did sign legal papers drawn up by Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) that gave all parental rights to Abby and Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) and Devon would just be the sperm donor. But it was Abby who went against their legal agreement when she dumped Dominic right on Devon’s doorstep and took off to Europe without telling anyone.

She even told Devon he was the only father Dominic would ever know and called him over every time the baby would sneeze or when she couldn’t soothe him. She allowed Devon to become attached to that baby all on her own and now that her life can possibly be as she imagined it, she doesn’t see where she went wrong when even Chance realizes there are issues with Abby’s plan and can see Devon’s point of view.

But, Abby never sees anyone’s point of view because she has a vision of life and doesn’t ever care who she steps over in order for her vision to happen. She may not want to hurt people, but she doesn’t think of other people and that seems to be a prime trait of the character.
