What Will Life Be Like For Julie Chrisley In Federal Prison?

Julie Chrisley Julie Chrisley and her husband Todd were both sentenced to prison for fraud, him for 12 years, and her for seven. Initially, it was believed that she would serve her time at the same prison as Ghislaine Maxwell. However,  that’s not actually the case. So, where will she go and what will life be like for her behind bars? Read on to find out.

Julie Chrisley – Won’t Be At The Same Prison As Todd

Initial reports suggested that the mom of Grayson, Chloe, Chase, and Savannah would go to the FCI Tallahassee facility. Actually, Ghislaine Maxwell was moved there and life sounds reasonably comfortable. It’s a low-security facility, not like the one where Todd’s wife will spend seven years. She will reportedly go to a mid-level security facility in Florida: FCI Marianna. Todd’s prison, Pensacola is also in Florida, but several hours away.

Julie Chrisley won’t have the Club Med experience in prison that it’s thought her husband will experience. In his prison facility, there are reportedly tennis courts, immaculate gardens, apartment-style housing, and a swimming pool. According to a report by US Weekly, “the Chrisley Knows Best alums report to their respective institutions in Florida on January 17.” So in a  month, their lives will change forever.

Julie Chrisley – Will Be In A Satellite Camp At FCI Marianna

The outlet also noted that the couple will both serve in minimal security units, and Marianna has a camp for that. The Federal Bureau of Prisons notes that Marianna has facilities for males and females. Obviously, they are kept well apart. When the former USA Network star arrives, she will first undergo orientation so she knows the ropes inside. After a medical examination, she will get the basics for hygiene, like toothpaste and soap. but they can buy from the commissary as well.

Julie Chrisley won’t be lying around in her bed in the early morning as she will have to get up at six and clean her accommodation out before breakfast. Then, it’s off to work and all inmates have to do that. Only after three months, can they request a transfer to another work division. If she’s wise, Todd’s wife will apply to be assigned to UNICOR. It takes years to get on the list, but work choices seem a bit better.

Julie Chrisley – Cellphones Are Not Permitted

Julie Chrisley won’t be able to use her phone in prison, but there is an inmate phone system with limited calling minutes. Plus, she will be able to take part in recreational facilities like “crafting, TV time, team sports, and wellness instruction,” according to the handbook. However, the inmates can’t wander around the camp visiting other inmates in their accommodations. Most of it seems to be dormitory-style housing.

When it comes to visitors, there are set times, and children may accompany an adult. However, it’s not clear how any of the family will manage those visits. After all, with both parents in different facilities, it won’t be that easy to arrange.

Perhaps the Chrisley family will consider moving to Florida so they can keep up with Julie and Todd.
