The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Soap Opera Digest that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) still feels guilty. The GCPD has officially closed the case but Nick still wants to confess to his part in Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) counsels him.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Case Closed
Nick goes to Crimson Lights and tells Sharon that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has officially closed the investigation into the death of Ashland. Nick just can’t let it go that he caused the man’s death, and he feels guilty even though there were plenty of times that he had wished him dead. Perhaps that is part of his guilt that he’d wished him dead even though he certainly didn’t want to cause it.
Nick is not like his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) who can do extremely unethical and immoral things for the sake of family and not worry about it. Nick is having a very difficult time dealing with the aftermath of that punch he took that knocked Ashland onto the fireplace bricks, causing a fatal injury.
Y & R Spoilers – Obstruction Of Justice Not Right
Nick knows that Victor’s handling of the situation by having his men remove the body and stage a fatal accident was obstruction of justice. He is comfortable that what happened on his end was self-defense, or defense of his sister which falls into that category legally and should have been investigated that way. He tells Sharon had Victor not interfered, there would have been an accidental death and that would have been the end of it. He tells her that when Chance came to update himself and the Newmans, he mentioned a cover-up of an accidental death by Victor. But Nick was forced to lie, and he is not comfortable with that either.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Rosales Tries To Help
Sharon tries to help Nick work through his guilt and resentment towards his father, reminding him the Locke nightmare is over and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is safe. They can all go back to a normal life now and that is a very good thing. Sharon understands that Nick feels no matter how horrible and messed up Ashland Locke was, he was a human being and why Nick feels guilty about ending a human life.
Nick may still go to the police, or at least to Chance, and talk privately about what really happened. He knows that Chance felt stymied and similar to Nick in that he was forced to compromise his standards as well, and they would be in total agreement.
