As Supernatural fans start getting excited about the upcoming prequel to their favorite show, a new poster has been released for The Winchesters. The series’ creators are gradually building the excitement, giving us more teasers about The Winchesters on the road to the premiere. Meanwhile, the series has been billed, “A Supernatural Love Story” and it is set to debut on The CW on October 11. Read on to find out more about this exciting, upcoming series.
A new poster has been released for the upcoming Supernatural prequel and it centers around the series’ main characters, John Winchester (Drake Rodger) and Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly). The handsome pair can be seen standing tall and brave, as a storm brews in the background. As we know from the original Supernatural, this soon-to-be family loves their jackets. In fact, the poster reveals John and Mary standing in a scary graveyard, jacketed to the nines.
Meanwhile, fans have noticed that the couple is well-casted, as both look a little like their future sons. There is definitely a little Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in both of them.
Since the final season of Supernatural aired, spinoffs of the series have been in the works. However, it only finally worked when Ackles, and his wife, Daneel, found themselves bored, locked down at home during the pandemic. They literally sat there, stuck at home, dreaming up a Winchester family origin story.
Meanwhile, after their ideas got the green light from Supernatural creator, Eric Kripke, Jensen and Daneel teamed up with Supernatural producer, Robbie Thompson to get things going.
Dean (Ackles) will be the narrator of the series, taking viewers on a journey to see how his parents originally met in 1972. It is clear that Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) is already an experienced monster-hunter, who will draw John Winchester (Drake Rodger) into her craft.
Meanwhile, other cast members include Bridget Regan, Jojo Fleites, Blanca Kajlich and Demetria McKinney. Moreover, the premiere episode was recently aired at New York Comic Con to mostly positive reviews. Now might be a good time to binge every past season of Supernatural to remind us of the family “business” as well as the mysterious Men of Letters, who is likely to return in The Winchesters.
As a reminder, The Winchesters premieres on The CW on October 11, which should give you enough time for a super-binge.
