The Duchess of Cornwall Sees Prince Philip As A Role Model

From one royal consort to another. Prince Philip, who passed away in his sleep at the Palace last April, is currently the longest serving royal consort. And now it seems that the Duchess of Cornwall, who is married to the longest serving heir in recorded history, is taking cues from the person who held the position of consort to the British Sovereign before her.

Camilla Parker Bowles Quotes Prince Philip in Latest Interview

Earlier this year, the Duchess received the official approval regarding her future role by none other than the Queen herself. Formerly, due to the negative public reaction to Camilla becoming a member of the Royal Family in 2005, Prince Charles and Camilla announced that she wouldn’t be taking the title of Queen when Charles takes the throne.

However, when Queen Elizabeth publicly threw her wholehearted support behind Camilla, we knew that the 96-year-old monarch was actually acknowledging the years of diligent service the Duchess, 75, has put in.

As Camilla looks forward to her future role, she’s looking forward to following in her late father-in-law’s footsteps.
In fact, just recently, the Duchess of Cornwall quoted Prince Philip, who was a consort to the Queen for over seven decades, as someone who is worthy of emulation.

She quoted his mantra as being: “Look up and look out, say less, do more – and get on with the job.”

Duchess Of Cornwall Praises Prince Philip

Like Prince Philip, she’s never been one for the glitz and glamour of royalty, because, as we well know, she’ll rather get the job done as quietly as possible. She doesn’t seek the praise or the approval, as long as she gets the work done, it’s enough for her to keep doing it.

Fun fact: Duchess Camilla carries out more than 150 public engagements each year, even though most people in their mid-70s would be enjoying retirement and spending time with their friends, children and grandchildren.
