The two agents that showed up didn’t act like real investigators; if there is a report of a child in danger, they act first and ask questions later. They separate the child from the parents and question them separately because children in danger from their parents are afraid of them, and won’t tell the truth. Many times if the agents deem the child is in imminent danger they have the legal paperwork already in hand to remove them from the parental home.
This didn’t happen with Thomas Forrester, (Matthew Atkinson) Ridge Forrester, (Thorsten Kaye), and Douglas Forrester (Django Ferri). The agents questioned Douglas right in front of Thomas and Ridge and Thomas sent Douglas upstairs afterward; real CPS agents would not have taken a chance like that.
Thomas came home right as they were doing their investigation; what an incredible sense of timing he had. It also seemed very convenient that a friend was working now for CPS, and Walter Barnes (Steve Richard Harris) was able to access calls to CPS on his cell phone. Real Child Protective Services agents are given their assignments at the office and they don’t get the calls, they are assigned based on the calls that come in. It doesn’t seem logical for Thomas to call CPS on himself through a voice-changing app like Brooke, but if the agents were phony there was no danger. Ridge knew Walter and that he used to work for them, but that doesn’t mean he really works for Child Protective Services; he could be part of the plot too.
It seems more and more like someone, probably Thomas himself, was behind this call to CPS, and everyone from the two agents responding to Walter was in on it. Thomas could have easily paid them to play their parts and how to play them so as to cause minimum fright to Douglas and maximum damage to Brooke. That way Ridge would think Brooke lied to him and break up with her and head back to Thomas and Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline Maciness Wood) mother.
That is exactly what Ridge did, only to find out that Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) didn’t want him to chase after her. If he’s going to bounce back and forth between her and Brooke like a ping pong ball like he always has, she doesn’t want him.
