Find out about who will star in the first season of “The Traitors.” And learn who will host the show. Get all the details below.
The Peacock streaming service has gathered stars from a flock of reality TV shows. And the celebrity-studded cast will compete on “The Traitors.” With actor Alan Cumming as the host, the show takes some elements from a Dutch series. But Peacock promises a “psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game,” reported Us magazine.
In all, “The Traitors” will feature 20 contestants. However, although celebrity reality TV stars get the spotlight, the new show also will feature non-celebrity competitors. And the end goal focuses on cash. The contestants hope to win up to $250,000.
But beware! A catch-22 exists in this game. Because three cast members, known as “the traitors,” must come up with a scheme to steal the prize from the rest of the cast. And those contestants become known as “the faithful.”
Watch for your favorite reality TV stars to shine on this show. For instance, Big Brother winners Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly will compete against Survivor players Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick. And Below Deck fan favorite, alum Kate Chastain, promises to bring her wit to the new show.
But the list of reality TV stars doesn’t end there. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville will do her best to shine against Summer House star Kyle Cooke. And look for former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr., Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan and Olympian Ryan Lochte to seek to win the ultimate prize as well.
However, non-celebrity contestants get a chance at that cash prize too. Those cast members come from a wide range of fields. For instance, the non-celebrity competition includes a political analyst, yoga instructor, ER nurse, and an actress. The non-celebrity cast members are Christian De La Torre, Michael Davidson, Andie Thurmond, Quentin Jiles, Shelbe Rodriguez, Geraldine Moreno, Robert “Bam” Nieves, Anjelica Conti, Azra Valani and Amanda Clark.
Taking place in a castle in the Scottish Highlands, the new competition show will become “a game chock-full of alliances, deception and even ‘murder.’ We can’t wait for Peacock audiences to experience and play along in this epic game of manipulation and deceit, all while the iconic Alan Cumming pulls the strings of our incredible cast to create the ultimate ‘whodunit,’” promised Corie Henson, EVP Entertainment Unscripted Content at NBCUniversal. Peacock will debut “The Traitors” on January 12, 2023.
