Kady Brown’s s second wife always loves going to the farmers’ market to buy her produce. These days, she only has her daughter Savanah living with her, and perhaps Gabe, her youngest son. So, she doesn’t need to cater for plenty of people to eat. Not that she really did much of that in the past. Actually, those duties mostly fell on Christine’s shoulders.
Often, Sister Wives fans see that Janelle promotes healthy food and drink. But in fact, she always did. As far as her social media accounts go back, she shared about veggies and herbs. However, her cooking skills sometimes make TLC fans cringe a bit. Probably, we’ll never see a show called Cooking With Just Janelle. Actually, fans quite like her as she’s not afraid to ask them for advice about recipes. Fortunately, she can draw on her friendship with Christine as well.
The mom of Logan, Hunter, Garrison, Maddie, Gabe, and Savanah looked a bit tired on August 12. So, she explained that it was really early. And then, she started talking about her beans. She told her fans that Christine used to soak them “forever.” In fact, if they “bubbled” in the bowl, she would soak them again. Preparing her own beans to make some soup, Janelle clearly wondered if waiting that long was a waste of time.
When the Sister Wives star asked her followers how long she needs to soak her beans, a lot of folks told her they do it “overnight.” The question is, apart from not wanting hard beans in your soup, why should beans soak at all? Some people don’t see much difference apart from a bit of extra cooking time. Well, for a start, soaking cleans them. But, there are some beans that everyone should soak.
The Sister Wives star and her fans might take note that the Food Network talks about the red beans as being toxic. In fact, just a few of them eaten raw or not well cooked can cause a reaction. An article on the site noted that “Studies conducted by British scientists have found that you should soak red kidney beans in water overnight.” After that, folks should “discard the water, and then boil the beans in new water until they boil at 212 degrees F for at least 10 minutes.”
Of course, like some of Janelle Brown’s fans, you could just buy the tinned ones. Did you know that beans should be soaked, especially red ones? How long do you soak your beans? Shout out in the comments below.
