Sister Wives star Christine Brown on living life for herself

Christine Brown recently spoke to People about her life after leaving the plural Brown marriage and her Mormon faith. It is now almost a year since she left her 26-year polygamous marriage to Kody Brown and she says she has never been happier.

In the latest issue, Christine, 50, says she now gets to live life for herself. Due to this, her whole world has changed and “every single cell” in her body is happier.

Christine decides to leave the polygamous marriage

Last November, Christine made a post on Instagram to let fans know her spiritual marriage to Kody, 53, was over. Prior to that, the TLC reality star shared her husband with three other wives, Meri, Janelle and Robyn. Christine married Kody in 1994 and are parents of one son and five daughters. Listed according to age are Aspyn, 27, Mykelti, 26, Paedon, 24, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 19 and Truely 12. It should be noted that Kody has a total of 18 children between the four women.

Originally, Christine had always wanted a plural marriage. However, this started to change in 2018. At that stage, she started thinking that maybe this wasn’t working for her, adding:

And then I stopped believing in polygamy. I realized I didn’t really want to live it anymore. I didn’t like sharing a husband or feeling like I wasn’t important.

Eventually, after years of feeling unhappy with her marriage, Christine moved to Salt Lake City in Utah with Truely to start a new life. According to the TLC reality star, the first night that she went to bed, she realized she was “home.” It was as simple as that. Christine explained that she got to start everything over again and it was exciting and new. However, she did add that it was also so scary, as she had no idea what to expect. However, she said how excited she was, adding,

I remember feeling hope for the first time in a long time because I just got to take my life by my own and go. It was wonderful.

Christine and Truely having fun together

While Christine and Kody still co-parent the children and he does see Truley often. However, the mother and daughter are embracing their news lives together. Christine said she can’t say how many times she has opened Truely’s door and asked her, “What should we do for fun today?”

Then the mother and daughter duo pick a destination and off they go, having fun and exploring. Christine added how “absolutely amazing” this is. She added there are so many things to do, and she wants to do it all. However, when asked about dating, Christine says she isn’t quite ready for that yet. However, when she is ready, she would love to date and would love to find a romantic partner.

However, when she spoke to her daughter about it recently, Truely reminded her that she loves their life how it is right. Meanwhile, she said that when she does start dating, she wants a guy who actually loves her and wants to be with her intimately. However, she also stressed that she will be a “monogamist from here on out.” Mostly, the TLC reality star was to be an example for her children more than anything. She added that she always tells them to do what’s going to make them happy, and she needs to do the same.

As for Kody and the other wives, season 17 of Sister Wives premieres on September 11, at 10 pm ET on TLC.
