Sister Wives Season 17 spoilers reveal Kody Brown tells Christine Brown that, when they first met, he “wasn’t attracted” to her. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.
Sister Wives – Kody Brown Felt Pressured to Marry
Sister Wives spoilers reveal that the season 17 premiere of Sister Wives which is suitably titled “It’s Over,” centers around Kody and Christine’s first meeting after she moved all of his stuff in the garage, per Insider. The Sister Wives patriarch had discovered the pile in the Season 16 finale, so this premiere appears to pick up where the couple left off.
The episode sees the former couple rehashing old drama in their marriage and settling on separation. In the midst of their conversation, we hear Kody throw a jab at Christine, saying, “OK, so we can unravel this further because it’s true that I wasn’t attracted to you when we got married,” adding, “I felt pressured into the marriage. I did not know better at the time.”
Sister Wives – Was Wedding Destiny Despite Being ‘Boring?’
Sister Wives fans may recall that Christine and Kody had a “spiritual” wedding 28 years ago. They both followed a fundamentalist Mormon faith which includes plural marriage. At that time, in 1994, Kody was already legally betrothed to his first wife Meri with a second spiritual wife, Janelle, already on board.
As viewers know, this wouldn’t be the first time Kody and Christine have discussed being bored with their wedding day. However, neither has ever admitted that they were unsure of the undertaking.
On Sunday’s premiere episode, we see Kody admit that, though his relationship with Christine at the time of their marriage seemed “not romantic,” the Sister Wives patriarch did indicate that it did at least feel like the pair were “following through with a destiny.” Christine, for her part, indicated that the union felt romantic to her.
Sister Wives – Too Many Expectations
Christine and Kody did agree that, out of all the uncertainty, they built a good marriage over the many years they were married. They also discussed Kody’s belief that his attraction to Christine began to wane when he realized that she had been mistreating others in the polygamist household.
In a one-on-one, Christine admitted, “I had all these criteria I had to meet in order for him to be attracted to me.” She asked, “Can we just admit then that it’s over?”
“If I have to meet all these criteria in order for him to be attracted to me, I just can’t be myself.”
Sister Wives – Why Christine Brown Felt the Marriage Failed
Christine admitted that she’d get jealous of the other sister wives she saw as having better relationships with Kody than her, and perhaps treated them unkindly as a result. In Christine’s mind, the main issue with her marriage to Kody had nothing to do with her relationships with the other wives.
The problem with their marriage, in Christine’s view, had to do with Kody’s feelings, or lack thereof, for her. As fans know, now that the couple has moved on, Christine is flourishing with her own cooking show. Catch a repeat of the premiere, tonight at 10 PM CST on TLC. Catch episode 2 on Sunday at 9.
