Sister Wives Season 17: Does Christine Deserve Kody’s Criticism?

Sister Wives Season 17 takes TLC viewers inside the final breakup of the spiritual marriage between Kody Brown and his third wife, Christine. Actually, fans always thought that Meri might be the first one to leave. But, she seems determined to hang in there with Robyn. Now that Kody seems to blame Christine for all their failures as a family unit, does she actually deserve that criticism?

Sister Wives – Season 17 Trailer – Kody Brown Seems Really Angry

When the trailer dropped on August 8, the TLC show dished enough for fans to keep on tuning in. As the trailer didn’t show any of the older kids, perhaps Gabe and Garrison decided to sit this season out. Recall, last season, they clashed with Kody a lot and their mom, Janelle got on the wrong side of her husband as well. Actually, she didn’t escape Kody’s rage when he ranted about how Christine kicked him to the curb and ruined the whole premise of a successful polygamous show.

In season 16, Sister Wives fans saw that Kody seemed to open Robyn Brown up to criticism from the other wives. Actually, she heaved out some tears because none of them seem to like her. Well, Janelle out and out said she couldn’t be bothered being besties because of historical baggage. Meanwhile, Christine seemed unfriendly as well. And who can blame her? After all, when Kody went on his honeymoon with  Robyn, she wasn’t feeling too good after the birth of Truely. And, they continuously flaunted their close relationship in front of her. So, why is Kody so angry with the fact that she got the heck out of their lives?

Sister Wives – Star Christine Was The Glue

If you watched the show from the beginning, you’ll know that Christine practically raised all of the kids. Bear in mind, Meri only had one kid. Meanwhile, Janelle went off and worked. By the time Robyn arrived, she only had to look after her own kids. So, it seems unfair to TLC fans that now the family starts splitting up, Kody seems to blame Christine for that.

The Sister Wives patriarch seems to think that Christine only left to ruin his imagined big happy family; Of course, it’s never his fault. And, it’s never Robyn’s fault as far as he’s concerned. Meanwhile, even Robyn seems against the idea of Christine leaving. She said in the trailer that she doesn’t think the problem is “plural marriage,” intimating that she also feels Christine is at fault for causing the family split.

Sister Wives viewers on Reddit completely agree that Christine didn’t break the family up all by herself. So, they feel that she doesn’t deserve criticism from Kody and Robyn. u/Corinne_Tean noted several points, including the fact that Kody seems to think that he is the only one who made sacrifices. What about Chrisitne sacrificing her life to raise his kids?

Additionally, she had described her relationship in the family as that of a “basement wife.” As long as she toed the line, she seemed useful to them. Rather like that Nanny who brought covid into Kody’s house. But, if she stopped cooperating, then she was “punished” for it. Christine’s supporters just wonder how she managed to put up with it for so long. Maybe Kody should be looking at himself when it comes to finding reasons to criticize the breakup of his polygamous family. Do you agree? Sound off in the comments below.
