Searchers For Eliza Fletcher Reportedly Discover A Body

Eliza Fletcher, aged 34 was abducted on Friday in Memphis when she went out for an early morning run. About three hours later, the police were alerted. Now a body has reportedly been recovered, but not yet officially confirmed. One alleged suspect in the case had previously done jail time for kidnapping.

Eliza Fletcher – Kidnapped Whilst Jogging

The mom of two was a Pre-K teacher and she often ran nearly in the morning. So, possibly her abductors had watched her for a while. Forced into an SUV, officials recovered her phone and a water bottle. Later, a suspect named Cleotha Abston was detained. Apparently, he has a long juvie rap sheet and he tried to clean the car to remove the evidence. Kidnapping was suspected because Eliza is an heiress to her grandfather’s mega-company. Orgill Inc.

Unfortunately, when the news arrived about the abduction, some folks pointed fingers at Aliza Fletcher. After all, she became a victim whilst out jogging in the early hours of the day. So, some folks on social media felt that she asked for trouble. Still, victim blaming is viewed as wrong. After all, everyone should be able to jog at any time in a law-abiding city. Meanwhile, others feel that the blame for the kidnapping lies with the perpetrators of the crime and not the victim.

Eliza Fletcher – Body Found?

Just hours ago, at the time of writing this, WREG News Channel 3 on YouTube reported that authorities are still attempting to locate her whereabouts. So far, The Sun has been the only mainstream outlet to report that a body was found. However, the outlet did acknowledge that the body news has not yet been confirmed. Initially, after his arrest, Cleotha Abston, the suspect failed to disclose any details of the disappearance of the jogger.

Eliza Fletcher could be dead, given the background of the criminal actions by the suspect. Cleotha Abston is aged 38. Back in 2001, The Memphis Flyer revealed that  Abston, still a juvenile, was involved in the kidnapping of a lawyer, Kemper Durand. Kemper got away and later, “Abston was jailed for 20 years without parole.”

The husband of Eliza Fletcher apparently found a lawyer and The Daily Mail reported that police took some items from the home of Eliza Fletcher. The outlet noted that “Memphis cops were seen towing her family car from her home.” Other items included “a pair of garden shears and a computer as evidence.”

At this time, no details as to why the items were taken have emerged. This is still an emerging story, so the details might not yet be fully understood.
