Royal Family News: Queen Elizabeth Gives “Generous Donation” To Ukraine Amid Russia’s Invasion

British royal family news shows that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked the UK’s royal family for their support during recent events. Most recently 95-year old Queen Elizabeth has shown her support for Ukraine via a donation to Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.

On Thursday the Disasters Emergency Committee tweeted their thanks to the monarch: “Many thanks to Her Majesty The Queen for continuing to support the Disasters Emergency Committee and for making a generous donation to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.”

Royal Family News – The Queen Supported Ukraine In A Formal Statement

On Wednesday the queen’s son and heir and his wife, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, met with Ukrainians in London. Camilla seemed teary during the meeting and she comforted the wife of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the U.K. Vadym Prystaiko. She hugged the woman and told her, “We are praying for you.”

At the meeting Prince Charles said, “I must say, my wife and I have been deeply moved by everything we’ve heard today during our visit and above all by the extraordinary bravery, generosity and fortitude of the Ukrainian community in the face of such truly terrible aggression.”

“Our thoughts and prayers, however inadequate they may be, are with all of you at this most difficult time,” he added.

Royal Family News – Prince Charles Speaks Out For Ukraine And Gives His Support

On Tuesday Prince Charles denounced Russia’s attack on Ukraine in a speech during a visit in Southend-on-Sea, England.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have also expressed their support for the beleaguered country. This is the message they posted to their @KensingtonRoyal Twitter account Saturday: “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future. Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

Royal Family News – Ukraine Recognizes Royal Support From The UK

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Britain’s royal family for their support on Tuesday, tweeting about his gratitude, “to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens. Good will triumph.”
