Royal Family News: Prince Harry Refuses To Attend Prince Philip’s Memorial

British royal family news shows that yesterday Prince Harry’s mouthpieces spoke for him, saying he would not be present with the rest of his family as they pay their respects to his late grandfather. Prince Philip died last April at the age of 99 and not just family and friends, but dignitaries, have chosen to honor the late Duke of Edinburgh and will act accordingly. Harry, not so much.

As soon as word got out that the red-headed wonder had no intention of honoring the man who helped raise him he was rightfully slammed for, “snubbing the Queen.”

No one should be surprised really. When Philip was on his death bed last year Harry and his wife Meghan dropped a salacious tell-all in which they dragged and trashed his family while Oprah Winfrey played conductor.

But it was gauche, even for Harry, to announce on Friday, “that he will not be returning to the UK later this month to attend the high-profile memorial marking the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh – but will reportedly head to The Hague for the Invictus Games in April.”

Under the circumstances his choice of venue cannot be seen as anything other than another snub of the family he has taken to using as his verbal punching bag.

Royal Family News – Harry Has Time Enough For Games

According to the Daily Mail, “A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex on Friday confirmed he would not be leaving his Montecito mansion to attend his grandfather’s Service of Thanksgiving, which is due to be held at Westminster Abbey on March 29.”

“Harry’s lawyers have claimed he ‘does not feel safe’ coming from across the Atlantic under the current security arrangements after he was told he would no longer be given the ‘same degree’ of personal protection when visiting from the US.”

In other words in his mind he thinks he is as important as Queen Elizabeth thus if he doesn’t receive the same taxpayer funded security as she (he won’t because he does not deserve it) he refuses to come home. Sad delusion.

It is very telling that he, “will fly to Europe for a visit to the Netherlands in mid-April for the Invictus Games.” Royal watcher Angela Levin puts Harry’s petulance into perspective by noting he is a, “child stamping his feet over the decision and said the move was tantamount to blackmail, warning the Duke could use dropping out of major events at the last minute as leverage to secure personal protective security in the UK.” Do better Harry, you’re not a 5-year old in the grocery store, stop demanding the candy your betters told you you can’t have, the world is watching as are your impressionable kids.
