Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Offered ‘A Form Of Exceptional Status’ For Jubilee Trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been awarded “a form of exception status” ahead of their UK trip for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Royal Family News – Harry Was Always Going to Receive Protection

According to Express UK, the Sussexes have been in meetings with The Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Unit for weeks and have guaranteed the Duke and Duchess taxpayer-funded security while they are visiting the UK.

Spokesman for the Home Office, Robert Palmer QC, told The Times that it was always expected that Harry would receive high-level police protection while he visited the UK. He has been given “a form of exceptional status” which basically means that he’ll be considered for personal protection “in certain circumstances.

Prince Harry’s legal row over security began following the Home Office’s decision to remove his security. Harry’s lawyers told the High Court that he had been “unable to return home” over fears that he and his family would be unsafe.

The duke offered to pay for the security out of his own pocket but was shot down and reportedly told that officers were not “guns for hire, according to the Sun. Despite his apparent steadfast refusal to return sans security, it’s been claimed that he always planned to return, with his wife Meghan Markle and kids, Archie and Lilibet, to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Royal Family News – Harry’s Security to Include Michael Jackson’s Former Bodyguard, with Caveats

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will reportedly be guarded 27/7 by a security team, which will include 12 former special forces personnel. One of them will reportedly be Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard, Alberto Alvarez. According to The Sun, unlike the UK team, Alvarez will not be allowed to carry a weapon while in the UK, nor will he receive intelligence briefs from security services.
