Prince William And Kate Middleton To Take Part In Fun Tradition Before Embarking On Caribbean Tour

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the traditional St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the Irish Games. The couple has been a regular at the parade for many years, but missed it the last two years.

Fun Royal Engagement For The Duke And Duchess of Cambridge

The parade is one of those rare times when the royal couple can totally drop their protocols in exchange for a fun and highly enjoyable day.

Next week on March 17, the pair will attend the traditional St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, alongside the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

Prince William, as the Colonel of the Irish Guards, has attended the event, alongside his wife, for many years.
The event didn’t, for one reason or another, hold in the last two years. In 2020, it was scrapped because a majority of the regiment were overseas on deployment, while last year’s event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thursday’s event will see Kate present sprigs of shamrock to the officers and guardsmen, fulfilling the royal tradition that has been in place since 1901. The officers and guardsmen will in turn pass it along the ranks.
In addition, she will present the regimental mascot, an Irish Wolfhound, with his own sprig of shamrock, while William will take part in the salute during the march-past.

Following the parade, the royal couple will meet and greet members of the regiment and take part in an official photo. They will also visit the Junior Ranks dining hall, where they will take a toast. However, once the parade is over, the couple will be faced with several big events.

Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Upcoming Diary Is Filled With Big Engagements

This coming Monday will see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the annual Commonwealth Day service alongside all the other royals.

Two days after their St. Patrick’s day event, the duo will embark on their much-speculated Caribbean tour. The news emerged last month that they would be traveling to the Caribbean for a week-long trip to help mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The tour will begin on Saturday, March 19, and will include stops at historical and scenic locations in Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas before ending on March 26.
