Prince Harry’s Spotify Work To Continue Despite COVID-19 Misinfo Concerns

Despite concerns over COVID misinformation on the Spotify platform, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said that they will continue to work with Spotify.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under some intense pressure to cancel their $22.2 million deal with the platform after it was discovered that comedian Joe Rogan, one of the many podcasters there, was spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. In a statement released on Sunday, January 30, the couple explained that they had spoken with Spotify about their concerns to ensure that the company would be making changes to “address the public health crisis.”

Royal Family News – Markle To Bring Back ‘The Tig’

It is expected that Meghan Markle will soon relaunch her lifestyle blog, The Tig, five years after having shut it down. According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex recently applied to have The Tig trademark reinstated, something which will assuredly excite her fanbase.

The application was filed under a Delaware-based holding company called Frim Fram Inc, linked to Markle’s business manager, Andrew Myer. The Sussexes have insisted that they are committed to keeping their agreement with the tech giant provided they continue to “ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis.”

The couple went further explaining that “since the inception of Archewell,” they have worked “to address the real-time global misinformation crisis.”

The royal couple went on to detail the work they have been doing with the platform, saying, “Hundreds of millions of people are affected by the serious harms of mis- and disinformation every day. Last April, our co-founders began expressing concerns to our partners at Spotify about the all too real consequences of Covid misinformation on its platform.
