Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie might not have a happy Thanksgiving Day this year. Convicted for conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud, prosecutors push for a lengthy sentence. Delayed several times, very soon, the outcome of their case will be decided by a judge.
Todd Chrisley – Always Believed They Would Be Found Innocent
The USA Network star fought hard for a retrial. And at one stage, he seemed jubilant because a witness gave the wrong impression during the trial. Of course, Julie faces an extra charge of wire fraud, but prosecutors want more jail time for Todd. Fans who watched the show, Chrisley Knows Best, feel torn because they know that Todd always had faith that things would go his way. Plus, they adore his mom, Nanny Faye. As the sentencing date draws near, Savannah is revealing a bit more about their lives on her new podcast.
Back in August, Todd Chrisley claimed that RS Revenue Officer Betty Carter had given the court the impression that he always avoided paying taxes. However, it’s not clear if that will help him and his wife avoid prison time. Right now, it is likely to be a sad and stressful time because the prosecutors seem intent on pushing prison for both of them. Meanwhile, supporters hope for some leniency.
Todd Chrisley & Julie Convicted Of A Federal Crime
Federal crimes often carry harsh sentences, even if people plead guilty. So, if things go wrong, might Todd or Julie or both of them be behind bars this Thanksgiving? Perhaps they will have to report later if they do time. At least, those people who support them hope so. Potentially, they won’t go to prison at the same time. After all, they have young kids to look after.
According to Fox 5, “Federal prosecutors are asking the judge to sentence Todd Chrisley to between 17 and 22 years while asking 10 to 13 years for Julie Chrisley.” The final sentencing decision will be made by a judge. Supporters hope that the judge takes into account their testimony. In fact, many letters of support were submitted for leniency. The outlet noted that “they are asking for the court to give Chrisley a combined sentence of limited incarceration, supervised release, and restitution.”
Todd Chrisley – Christian Faith
Todd Chrisley is relying on God at the moment. In fact, he often mentions that on social media and on his podcasts. If the path of his life takes him behind bars, he will probably take his message of faith and Christianity there with him. This Thanksgiving might not be a happy time for the family, but as Christians often say, “God works in mysterious ways.”
