Meghan Markle’s Lawyers Call Samantha’s Lawsuit A Pattern Of Disturbing Behavior

Meghan Markle's Lawyers Call Samantha's Lawsuit A Continuing “Pattern Of Disturbing Behavior”Ugh, the Markle drama is really getting out of hand. Seriously, I don’t believe Samantha should be suing her half-sister and dragging her name around, just as I don’t stand with Thomas smearing his youngest daughter’s name.

By the way, Meghan isn’t exactly a role model either by going on an international talkshow to talk about a racist senior royal, and still not deeming it right to name the said royal because it would be “damaging for them.” Hello? It’s already damaging for everyone who she and husband Harry covered under the umbrella of racism.

But tI’s The Markle Way, Isn’t It?

Meghan Markle’s Lawyers Respond to Samantha’s Claims Meghan Spread A False Narrative

The famous Markle V Markle is still ongoing. In the latest court proceedings, Meghan denied that she lied to Oprah about being an only child. Her lawyers insisted that her words weren’t meant to be objective facts but a subjective statement steming from her feelings.

The 40-year-old former actress is being sued by her much older half-sister Sam in Florida over the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah, which saw them share details about their personal moments.

Samantha is claiming that the “lies” Meghan spread on the Oprah interview and on the biography “Finding Freedom”, which it’s been proven she contributed to, subjected her to “humiliation, shame and hatred on a worldwide scale”.
As a result, she is seeking $75,000 in damages. Meghan’s US legal team has moved to dismiss the lawsuit in legal papers submitted to the court, the Telegraph reports.

Samantha is suing Meghan for what she termed her “rags to riches” story, which she said are “false and malicious lies”.

One of the main issues she brought up was that Meghan claimed on Oprah that she “grew up as an only child”.
In paperwork filed this week, Meghan’s lawyers said: “Plaintiff [Samantha] first asserts that she can disprove that Meghan ‘grew up as an only child’.

“But this perception is inherently unfalsifiable. It is hard to imagine a more personal and subjective feeling than how one views their own childhood.

“Moreover, Plaintiff’s opposition completely ignores the context of the statement, where Ms Winfrey asked Meghan about her ‘relationship’ with Plaintiff (to whom Ms Winfrey referred as her ‘half-sister on her father’s side’).

“Meghan’s response to that question that she ‘grew up as an only child’ was obviously not meant to be a statement of objective fact that she had no genetic siblings or half-siblings.

“Rather, it was a textbook example of a subjective statement about how a person feels about her childhood.”

Meghan Markle Used The Royal Family’s “Powerful” Press Sources To “Spread Lies Worldwide”

Lawyers for Meghan Markle have also argued that she cannot be sued over the book “Finding Freedom” because she did not write it.

“Meghan did not make the statements; she cannot be liable for them,” they said. “It is that simple.”

Sam is arguing that her half-sister had given statements to authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand via a third party. At first, Meghan denied any and all association with the book, but was later made to apologize to the court for “forgetting” she helped with the book.

In March, when Sam first filed for the case, she accused her of concocting a “false narrative and fairytale life story”, as well as orchestrating a “campaign to defame and destroy her sister’s and her father’s reputation and credibility in order to preserve and promote the false ‘rags-to-royalty’ narrative”.

Meghan, she claimed, “used the powerful resources of the royal family’s public relations operation to disseminate and spread lies worldwide”.

Meghan’s lawyers pushed back, calling the lawsuit “baseless and absurd”, and a “continuation of a pattern of disturbing behaviour”.
