As a result, a new report on an unsealed court transcript from one of his trials show the X-rated material Duggar, 33, allegedly viewed before the crime that resulted in his guilty verdict, per the Sun. Learn about how rape porn became a part of Josh’s scandalous history below. And discover more about the crimes that put Josh behind bars.
On December 9, Josh Duggar received a guilty verdict of possessing and receiving child pornography. But the trial also unveiled a previously unknown fact. Court transcripts show that Special Agent Gerald Faulkner alleged that Josh “watched rape porn” only a few minutes before his alleged crime. That crime involved downloading child sex abuse videos and photos to his HP computer at his used car lot.
During the trial, Agent Faulkner explained how a TOR browser opened access to the dark web. And the special agent revealed that the browser got used “to access porn sites associated with rape and files associated with child pornography.” In the wake of that access, Josh allegedly downloaded movies and photo files containing child pornography.
Looking back at Josh’s history, his scandalous timeline shows previous accusations of adult porn. And Josh himself made a confession after getting caught in the marital affair website Ashley Madison scandal. In a statement at the time, Josh called himself “the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet. And this has become an addiction.”
In a transcript, Josh pleaded with the court to hide his child pornography scandal. And he questioned one of the federal agents about keeping his case sealed. “I guess what is the process from here as far as, is this a sealed — I guess is this a sealed case? Or what is the deal?” asked Josh.
One of the agents answered, “Yes. As it stands right now, this is.” And Duggar begged for secrecy. “So how does that work as far as disclosure of this? I mean, can my attorney move for a motion to keep it sealed? I mean I don’t — even at some point — like, the thing is, even just the allegation for me is just horrendous.”
But the allegations quickly went public after Josh’s arrest. And the case almost immediately resulted in the cancellation of the Duggar family’s reality TV show, “Counting On.” As Josh quickly realized, the world knew about the child porn allegations. After a two-week jury trial, Josh received guilty verdicts on both counts.
Looking ahead, Josh could potentially spend up to 20 years in prison for each guilty verdict. And that means his wife Anna would need to parent their seven children alone.
