Jason Momoa Clears The Air On Kate Beckinsale Dating Rumours

Barely two months after Jason Mamoa and Lisa Bonet announced their split, rumors of Jason and Kate Beckimsale as a couple began circulating, and boy, did the rumors fast spread.

Jason and Kate were seen in a cozy moment at the Oscar Vanity Fair after-party last weekend on March 27, where Kate was spotted later, wearing Jason’s coat. Due to the ongoing rumors that they might be dating, Jason took it upon himself to set the records straight that they’re not dating.

He explained to Katie Krause of Extra TV in a statement published on April 4 that “It was cray. Have a conversation with a woman about her country, I was in England doing ‘Aquaman 2.'” Momoa, who loaned Kate his coat, added, “Everyone is like, ‘Are you dating?’ No, no, it was chivalry, the woman was cold.”

Explaining further as to the rumors he said “Absolutely not, not together. She is very nice, I was being very nice, just being a gentleman. Now, I am not giving my coat to anyone.”

At the Oscar, Jason was asked if he was back with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet or, if there’s a possible reconciliation, the Aquaman Star told Hollywood Actress that “We’re not back together […] We’re family. We have two beautiful children together.”

Jason and Lisa took to Instagram to announce in a joint statement on Jan 12 that they were breaking up. They were married for four years and have two children together Lola Mamoa, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf Mamoa, 13.

In the statement, they wrote “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.”

“And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.

“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become…”

Despite their split, the Dune actor is still is in a great relationship with his stepdaughter Zoë Kravitz who Lisa shares with her ex-husband Lenny Kravitz. Jason even stepped out for the Batman Premiere on March 1 to support Zoë. In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Jason said “We’re just so proud, Lisa couldn’t be here so we’re representing, me and the babies. We’re very excited to just be here…It’s still family, you know?”

Jason attended the premiere of Michael Bay’s new movie “Ambulance” on Monday in Los Angeles to clear the air of the dating rumors between him and Kate Beckinsale, and to support his friend Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

He told Kattie of Extra TV that he’ll be joining the Fast and Furious franchise and that he’s so glad Vin Diesel brought him in “We are doing ‘Fast 10’, it’s finally happened. It’s taken 10 movies for Vin [Diesel] to invite me, so thanks Vin for finally coming to your senses. I think I just begged to be in it. I just want to play the bad guy again.”

When Katie asked if he would be playing the villain he replied “F**k yeah!”

When asked if he was destined to be in the franchise, Jason quipped, “I mean I like motorcycles and cars… granted they’re not new, they’re all old… I want to do things fast… I just want to be the bad guy again.”

Jason admitted to being really excited to work with Charlize Theron as Charlize is very wonderful and talented.
