GH Spoilers: Who Is Austin’s Mysterious Boss?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) may not be the good guy he’s been presenting himself to be since he first met Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Maxie was the ultimate damsel in distress. She was nine months pregnant at the time and her captor wanted to take her baby to its father Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Maxie managed to overpower the nurse and she made a run for it just as she realized she was going into labor.

Maxie had been taken to a remote cabin in Pautauk. But she had no idea where she was or even what direction she should go. As she ran, she called out for help. But Maxie knew she couldn’t run anymore and found a clearing as she prepared to give birth all along.

In what seemed to be a coincidence at the time, Austin was hiking nearby and heard Maxie crying. Maxie couldn’t believe her luck that a doctor had just happened to arrive just in time to deliver her baby. But perhaps Austin’s presence wasn’t quite the accident it was made to look like.

Austin then took a position at General Hospital and eventually revealed that he is the son of the late Jimmy Lee Holt (last played by Steve Bond) making him a member of the Quartermaine family. Jimmy Lee had been disinherited by his father, Edward Quartermaine (the late John Ingle) and he enlisted Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) to represent him in his efforts to contest Edward’s will. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) in particular vowed to stop Austin from taking his place among the family.

After Brook Lynn kept Austin from taking the Quartermaine’s to court, General Hospital spoilers show Austin focused on his career and his growing attraction to Maxie. The couple has been taking things slowly mostly because of Maxie’s previous ordeal with Peter. Austin and Maxie returned to Pautauk for a camping trip but they were being watched. Austin got the would-be stalker alone and warned the person to stay away from Maxie. Even now that they have returned to Port Charles, Austin has been receiving mysterious texts.

Austin was cornered recently and told that since his assignment in Port Charles ended in failure, he must report to his mysterious boss, who they referred to as “she”. The two most likely people to have sent Austin to Port Charles on his mysterious mission are Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier). Selina is already based in Port Charles and the more she appears to have her hand in more things than originally thought. Jennifer is currently based on the west coast but has made it clear she plans to expand her power base to Port Charles. If Austin is indeed involved with the mob, Maxie may once again find herself in danger because she fell for the wrong man.
