Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) worries about her daughter’s mental state as Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) trial is ready to begin. She worries to Marshall and Curtis Ashford (Robert Gossett, Donnell Turner) at GH ; it’s coming down to the wire and nothing has been found to exonerate her! Team Trina has all been trying for a last minute Hail Mary to prove she was framed!
Marshall had previously reached out someone he knew from the music business in an effort to find the Highsiders bartender who had recognized Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Curtis reassures Portia there’s already another plan in motion and they’ve got Trina covered!
Officer Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) gets a letdown after his first kiss with Trina, after having a picnic with homemade brownies at the Metro Court Pool! Trina kissed back, but she’s obviously thinking better of it considering her trial is ready to start soon, and he’s a cop. Who would know better than the daughter of a retired Port Charles Police Detective that a cop getting involved with someone facing criminal charges could mess things up? That could mess up both his career and her court case and she tells him it can’t happen again. However, the homemade brownies and the company was a welcome distraction to all the nerve-wracking things that are going on!
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is interrupted by a very unwelcome visitor as she prepares to clear out her office at The Metro Court. Carly could find no options to buy back her half of the hotel, having sunk everything into the ELQ/Aurora Media merger that didn’t happen, and the stock plummeted. After she pleads to let her do this for her, Carly tells Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to get out and leave her alone to grieve in peace!
Carly had stubbornly refused to take help from either her now former business partner Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) or ex-husband Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), who’d just been talking about it. Now she finds out Nina bought her half of the hotel and in a grand gesture wants to give it back, no strings attached; thanks but no thanks!
Olivia had just been talking to Sonny about her trying to buy Carly’s half of the hotel from the investment company, but someone had beat her to it. Drew, Sonny and Olivia are wondering what happened; and Drew, frustrated, tells Olivia she cannot be okay with that! Previously, Drew also had tried to bail Carly out by offering to sell Crimson Magazine to Nina, who had turned him down, suspecting he had another angle. Soon they will find out and undoubtedly they won’t be okay with it, even Sonny suspecting Nina’s motives!
Sonny calls someone and says he needs them to look into some information for him, and that could pertain to at least two things. One thing may be looking into the background of Esmé, considering he had just had a talk with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) about her, mentioning to him she was pretty shifty! Another thing he may be talking to someone about is trying to find out who it was that bought Carly’s half of the Metro Court, although he’ll find out soon.
Sonny knows that Esmé is still scared of him, so he carries some weight with her. As for Spencer, he’s onto her, he just didn’t share his plan with Sonny, and he’ll up his game now that he saw Rory kiss Trina!
Carly is updating Sonny, Drew and Olivia about the most surreal thing having happened, obviously referring to Nina’s attempted bailout of her. She’s obviously taken aback by someone who is her enemy trying that hard to be her friend. Carly herself probably wouldn’t do something like that without some ulterior motive, so she can’t believe anyone else would. Plus, she is too proud to take a perfect solution to her problems, especially from Nina-she’ll never let her do anything for her to help! Carly very well could have evicted Nina from her office space or raise the rent to impossible levels, but now she can’t do that if she wanted to!
In Sasha Gilmore Corbin’s (Sofia Mattsson) hospital room in the psych ward of GH, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) visits her. She is worried about her break with reality on the Home and Heart Program and how it might have affected Deception Cosmetics. Viewers will remember that as Flora Gardens, (Susan Batten) gave her a baby carrier with a doll in it Sasha thought the doll was her real life baby who died!
Obviously, it likely didn’t help that she had popped some pills that Felty (Brian Norris) had given her! Brando is trying to convince Sasha to get more intensive therapy, but she’s more worried about the consequences to Deception!
