GH Spoilers: Trina’s Daddy Disaster — Does Taggert Already Know He May Not Be Her Father?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal we’ve known for some time that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) might be Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) biological father. He and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) hooked up years ago before Trina was born, but as soon as Curtis found out Portia was married, he called the whole thing off. Some time after, Portia discovered she was pregnant and she never reached out to Curtis about it. We’ve assumed all along that Portia is keeping this a secret because she doesn’t want to upend the lives of everyone she loves, herself included. However, perhaps we shouldn’t jump to the conclusion that Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) is one of those people.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Affair

Marcus was the other part of that love triangle and would have known at the time whether there was any potential Trina couldn’t be his. If he and Portia hadn’t been intimate, it may mean Taggert has known all along that he isn’t Trina’s dad. Maybe the couple still wanted to work on their marriage and so they decided they would never tell the father. Although they later decided to get a divorce, Taggert had already been raising Trina as his own. So it’s not unusual that he merely continued to. This could be a secret they share together, and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) is just oblivious to the fact that her friend and former partner already knows the truth.

GH Spoilers – Indicate It Doesn’t Mean Marcus Taggert Knew About Curtis Ashford

Just because Taggert may know Trina isn’t his daughter doesn’t mean he always knew whose daughter she could have been. Portia may have never told Taggert who she had an affair with. In fact, he might not have wanted to know. She could’ve painted it as a one-night stand or brief encounter with someone he has no connection to — an event that would never happen again if he would just consider staying in their marriage. Taggert may have raised Trina into adulthood without any idea who Portia’s mystery man was.

Finding out the man Portia had an affair with all those years ago was Curtis must have stung for Taggert, and it would make sense if he only pretended to be cool with it to save face in front of Trina, because he didn’t need her to start asking more questions. She was never supposed to find out Portia and Curtis had an affair when Portia was still married to Taggert, but she overheard Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) angrily ranting about it, and the rest was history, as they say. When Trina realizes Taggert would had to have put two and two together last year and realized the man in question that was possibly her dad was Curtis, it’s going to crush her.
