General Hospital(GH) spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has had many loves in his life, but none have stuck with him quite like Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — and none have agreed to marry him four times. That being said, Carly has also divorced Sonny four times. Yet the pair continue to find their way back into each other’s arms. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) — and anyone else in Port Charles with a pulse — knows this. Sonny and Carly will go down as Port Charles historical infamy, but Nina is holding out hope that the last time they found each other again was indeed the last time. So no one can blame her for looking for signs that Sonny might have a wandering eye, or heart.

When Nina toyed around with the theory that something was going on between Carly and Brick (Stephen A. Smith), she did it on purpose, even if she didn’t know it at the time. She wants to feel Sonny out and determine how he still feels about his ex-wife. Nina continues to find herself more and more invested in her feelings for Sonny, and she’s recently told him she loves him. The next step for this couple should be a happily ever after, but something just doesn’t fit right, and Nina is going to try hard to convince herself it’s her own nerves getting the best of her.

The problem with Sonny and Carly’s divorces is they never stay final. However, the couple has proven they always need that post-marriage reprieve from one another, and Sonny almost always moves on instantly — assuming he hadn’t started to before the marriage was dissolved.

The urge to become a couple again doesn’t happen for Sonny until Carly starts to turn her glance in someone else’s direction. Sonny cannot stand the thought of Carly being with another man, and any time she starts to move in that direction, it seems certain that he will move mountains to prevent her from falling in love with anyone but him all over again. Thus, Nina is not eager for Sonny to find out Carly has found someone new.

When Sonny thought for a moment that something might be going on between Carly and Brick, he almost couldn’t think straight. He had to know the truth right away so he could stop panicking inside, and Nina saw that. He left her at their table to flesh out the truth from Brick before he could move on with his meal and date night with Nina. At that point, she was starting to feel uncomfortable.

Then, the way Sonny flipped right back to being calm, cool, and collected when Brick assured him he had no romantic interest in Carly only left Nina feeling more unsettled. It was proof to her that Sonny isn’t okay with Carly moving on. What does that mean for her own future with Sonny? Is he just biding his time with Nina until he’s ready to chase after Carly again?
